RELEVE Week!

Can you imagine how much practice, patience and pain ballerina's endure to do this?
This week in class we are emphasizing that anything is possible with  patience, practice, practice and sometimes a little bit of pain. Teaching our kids to push through the pain, even when they want to quit, will give them the ability to conquer anything they set their mind to!

'Lucky Shamrock Week'

This week is all about the fun of traditions! When we show our children and participate in family traditions, we are giving our family a better sense of who they are... who you are as a family. You give them the ability to imagine the future with their own families, carrying out the same traditions. This week, the fun is all about St. Patricks Day.. leprachauns, gold at the end of the rainbow, corn beef and cabbage and more. If you don't already, try implementing a new tradition over this upcoming weekend; maybe a corn beef meal on Sunday night, or watching your kids wake up and find gold from the leprachauns.

Welcome to March...

This week is Space Week at the gym, and we are thinking about how changing technology has changed our world. As kids, we all grow up wanting to be a hero, fireman, police officer, or astronaut. But as technology has advanced, things that seemed out of reach and 'into the future' are now a reality. So this week, while you are at home with your kiddo's, talk about what they want to be when they grow up. Then, tell them what you wanted to be when you grew up and how things have changed. Talk to them about the first time a space shuttle was sent to the moon and how technology has made things so much easier. This will give you the opening to talk about how that same technology has made life easier in some ways and harder in others. Talking with your kids when they are young, opens the pathways of communication and they will feel at ease talking to you as they get older, and the topic gets harder.

'BRAVE Week'

This week's theme: Brave Week
National 'No Name CallingWeek'

This week we are teaching our students to be BRAVE. Being Brave can mean trying a new trick for the first time, or standing up for what you know is right, even if it's not popular. It's hard to be brave, even for adults, so we want our students to know how to be Brave. You can practice this exercise with your kids at home, and teach your toddlers the meaning of Brave. Set up a small routine, standing on one leg, do 5 jumping jacks, and then add something new. Teaching them to be Brave can be having them do something they have never done before, and showing them how it pays off. By being Brave, they learned a new trick they wouldn't have known, had they not tried.

Happy Monday!
